At Habitat for Humanity Romania, we are committed to maintaining the safety, dignity, and well-being of everyone we interact with, including our employees, volunteers, partner families, and members of the communities we serve.
We have a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation, harassment, and discrimination. We recognise that vulnerable individuals, including children, older adults, and people with disabilities, may be at greater risk of harm, and we take additional measures to ensure their protection.
We have established safeguarding policies and procedures designed to prevent and respond to any safeguarding concerns that may arise. Our employees and volunteers receive training on these policies, and we expect everyone associated with Habitat for Humanity Romania to uphold and comply with them.
We encourage the reporting of any safeguarding concerns or incidents and take all allegations seriously. Appropriate reporting mechanisms are in place to ensure that all reports are handled confidentially, sensitively, and in a timely manner.
We regularly review and update our safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they remain effective in protecting everyone we work with.
Safeguarding is a core priority for Habitat for Humanity Romania, and we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our mission.
Habitat for Humanity is committed to promoting an ethical and respectful working environment, protecting the rights of the people we serve, and ensuring the responsible stewardship of donated funds and resources. In line with our mission and core values, Habitat for Humanity and all local Habitat organisations maintain a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment, exploitation, abuse, fraud, and other unethical conduct.
These reporting guidelines apply to employees, volunteers, programme participants, donors, suppliers, partners, and members of the public who interact with any Habitat organisation.
Habitat is committed to addressing all complaints promptly, fairly, respectfully, and as transparently as possible. Depending on the nature of the concern, the Habitat for Humanity Romania staff member receiving the report will refer it to the designated Safeguarding Lead and the appropriate internal committee. Where applicable, the matter will then be escalated to the relevant review, investigation, or case management body within Habitat for Humanity International.
The reporting channels listed below are not intended for emergencies and should not replace contacting law enforcement or emergency services.
